About our Hexagon Acrylic Ganache Boards / Lids
Hexagon cakes are on trend, but how do you cover them precisely? Our Hexagon Ganache Boards (sometimes known as ganache lids) are a must have for any cake decorator. Our boards are not only great for ganache but can also be used with other icings and frostings such as buttercream. They will have you ganaching sharp edges and straight sides like a professional in no time!
We also offer .25″ and .5″ options for easy ordering. No need to trim back your cakes!
Our Hexagon Acrylic Ganache Boards are based on a REGULAR hexagon. That means all six sides are equal in length, all interior angles are 120°, and all points will touch a circle’s circumference. It also means that the width differs to the height! By width we mean point to point.
Before ordering, we strongly recommend you measure your hexagon cake tin to confirm it is a regular hexagon and the point to point dimension. We also recommend you go one step further and measure a cake you baked in the tin. If you want to be precise this is the way to go as some cakes shrink more than others.
Our 6″ ganache board is 6″ (152.4mm) wide from point to point but only 5.2″ (approximately) high meaning flat edge to flat edge.
Please note, not all tins are created equal. As a side note we have read that cake boards are measured flat edge to flat edge but as our ganache boards are all about covering the cake, we have gone with point to point.
